1. INITIATION
Welcome to the fleet, Commander. You have been assigned a standard-issue U.E.F. mining vessel with 0 credits. Your survival and progression depend entirely on your ability to extract and trade resources.
2. NAVIGATION & NEWTONIAN PHYSICS (CRITICAL)
Spaceflight in the Galactic Terminal network operates on real-world physics. There is no friction in space. You do not navigate by setting a destination waypoint, but by setting a velocity along the X, Y, and Z axes (in km/s).
- [ ENGAGE THRUSTERS ]: Accelerates or decelerates your ship to the inputted velocity. This consumes fuel (calculated via Delta-V). Once at your target speed, your vessel will drift indefinitely without consuming additional fuel.
- [ FULL STOP ]: To stop at a destination, you must fire retro-rockets. The flight computer will block acceleration if you do not have enough 'Reserve to Stop' fuel. If you run out of fuel while in motion, you will drift endlessly until rescued or destroyed.
- QUANTUM FUEL ADDITIVE: A tactical injection available in the Shipyard. Toggle this to reduce the fuel cost of your next maneuver or emergency stop by 50%.
3. TACTICAL RADAR & TARGETING
Use [ SCAN LOCAL SECTOR ] to map your surroundings. The radar predicts the real-time movements of other vessels (Dead Reckoning). To engage a target:
- Click [ TARGET ] in the radar list to lock a ship, asteroid, or station into your Targeting Computer.
- Navigate toward the target. Once the live distance indicator drops below 50 kilometers, your short-range systems will come online.
- Use the [ FULL STOP ] command to decelerate to 0 km/s, then click [ EXTRACT ] to harvest resources or [ DOCK ] to tether to a station.
4. ECONOMY & COMBAT
Return to Earth Orbital Station (Target ID: stat-1) and dock to offload your cargo on the Galactic Trade Network (GTN) and upgrade your ship in the Shipyard.
- ARMISTICE ZONE: A mandatory ceasefire is enforced within a 250km radius of Earth. The flight computer will refuse to unlock your weapons in this Safe Zone.
- COMBAT: Outside the Safe Zone, weapons are hot. Ensure you have purchased Tactical Laser Charges (Ammo). If you reduce a rival commander's hull to 0 HP, their ship will detonate, leaving their cargo behind as a Wreckage anomaly which you can loot using [ EXTRACT ].
